The Fairview Volunteer Fire Department is a non-profit emergency response organization located 15 miles south of Pittsburgh. The Department responds to an average of 250 calls annually.
Fairview was was the third of four departments organized in South Fayette Twp. The department has been operating since 1950. Fairview was station 14 until 2000 when Allegheny County assigned new station numbers. Fairview was assigned 268 and has been operating as 268 since.
Fairview Volunteer Fire Department operates 365 days a year, 24 hours a day with members that are 100% volunteer. Our members provide fire and rescue service without charge to our residents. The members of Fairview are homeowners and business owners just like you. Members of the department dedicate many hours in training, fundraising, work details, maintenance, administration and responding to emergencies.
The department currently runs with 19 active members and operates with an Engine, Rescue, Squad, and Utility.
"The mission of the Fairview Volunteer Fire Department shall be the protection, preservation and well-being of the health, safety, and property of all persons residing, working or otherwise within South Fayette Township. We shall accomplish this mission with fire prevention and education. We shall maintain a high standard of training and education, act and perform in a safe, courteous, and professional manner, strive to create a strong bond with the community and interact professionally with other township departments. As members of this department, we have chosen to be part of a team that takes pride in representing this mission through dedication and integrity."
